Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials say early analysis show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.
Local authorities announced they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior political figure commented the vandalism left him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
